  what the hell is up with the "ban" on facial hair outside of a mustache in the wt?.

  i see nothing about it in the bible, and i remember i did some research and nothing came up in the jw publications.. did i miss something?.

  oh wait, is this another way to get people to conform without scriptural basis.... i want a goatee :(.... actually i'm thinking of growing one and then people would get the idea that i'm not doing so hot in "the truth"..

  my brother in law left us and went to his heaven to be with his dad today at 1:20pm pacific.

  it took his strong body almost two days to give up its fight.

  now we can move on..... his daughter is due to have a new baby on may 20th....a very sad and very happy time and the continuation of life..

  at certain points throughout the talk "cues" were to be given by the speaker so that preset questions could be asked by nominated 'brothers".

  all well and good - no problem until..... .

  LOl that's funny. I remember when they would ask for audience participation during most of the public talks. They banned that type of talk here in the states. Too bad. It at least made the public talk bearable.

  i could never get someone to help, and i was always last to leave.

  when i did finally have one person who would help, if i used them too often i got questions about why the two of us were always taking the contributions.

  Did you carry any No Blood paraphernalia around?

  i never really carried anything on me.

  it was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting).

  but i always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet.

  I had been thinking about the whole hype around the no blood card/medical directive. It was such a big deal for everyone. I remember this elderly sister agonizing over the new blood fraction decree. We sat with her trying to help her decide how to fill it out and what to allow. It was very stressful because it didn't make sense.

  I recall that so much hoopla when it came time for the talk and getting it signed. After that it was rarely mentioned. You'd think such a serious issue would be talked about more regularly than it is, huh?

  I never really carried anything on me. It was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting). But I always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet. I also don't think I ever really thought I would use it. I had a cousin die from refusing blood and my little sister had a near miss with the whole blood issue when we were kids. So I was never quite comfortable with the No Blood directive.

  Remember the No Blood necklaces and bracelets?.......ROFL.
